10-bit displays

Deleon.David

So I'm thinking of getting a 10-bit monitor

My question is, would I need to buy another gpu to be able to get the 10-bit colour reproduction?
I currently have a 7970

for a 10bit signal from the gpu to the monitor you would need a different GPU.

You can however still benefit from 10bit Display with an 8Bit signal.

AFAIK Only workstation cards support 10bit output. So I doubt the 7970 does. I could be wrong though. I couldn't find any sort of compatibility list unfortunately :S
