Where are your boards?

I'm not so sure.  There are two things I notice; There are 10 SATA ports, but 6 are red and 4 are black.  X99 supports 10 SATA ports natively, and all of them are 6Gbps, so they should all be the same color.  Strange that apparently 4 of the ones on this board are from a 3rd party controller.  Of course it is entirely possible they are all native, and they used different colors just for aesthetics.  Or four of the native ports were used for eSATA/USB combo ports on the back.  Who knows.

Second thing is, as far as I know DDR4 only supports 1 DIMM slot per channel due to a change in topology from DDR3 (point-to-point instead of multi-drop bus).  There are probably ways around this that will be used in server boards, but it's unlikely we'd see them on a consumer or gaming/enthusiast board.  So either, Haswell-E has 8 memory channels (unlikely), they used a server-grade workaround (possible I guess, but would probably hurt performance in some way, since the entire point of the topology change was to improve latency), I'm just wrong about that DDR4 limitation or workarounds are simpler than I thought (possible), or it's not actually an X99 board, just X79 (possible, the question then is whether Jacob is the type to troll everyone or not :P)

(EDIT: Based on the position of the keying notch in the DIMM slots, those are definitely DDR4 slots)

(EDIT 2: The MSI X99 board revealed has 8 DIMM slots as well, seems like my information was probably wrong then :) Glad to see it too)

Because EVGA focuses more on x3 and x4 SLI/Crossfire with their high end boards.

When will EVGA get rid of this distusting 'salmon-red' colour?

It's horrible :( I understand if this board is an early prototype, but if it isn't...

Welp, could be x79, but if its x99, THEN I'M ALL IN. Only reason I went x79 was because ram on both sides and only i7's aloud. I hope it's one of the two.

EDIT

Look at mobo next to it!! It has a 7 in it... X79 boards with ram on both sides?!?!? WAT?!?!

I've only seen that with EVGA, I too would like to see some Asus boards with it implemented.
