Simple question (I think) about a discrete gpu and an apu

I'm wondering if windows task manager is adding my integrated graphics to my cpu usage because they are on the same chip and if so would adding a gpu to my system reduce the "cpu" usage. Am I totally off base here?

It wouldn't reduce your CPU usage because if you already have a dedicated GPU your integrated GPU wouldn't be running anymore.

But I don't at the moment, I'm wondering if I were to add a dedicated gpu would the integrated gpu being reflect in my cpu usage.
