I use avid or cs 6. like using cs 6 r rendering is so cool. but it has some problems manly no one use's it in the pro world and for me avid works better when working with big camra's like the red or arri alexa do to it being able to genrate prox files and some time's you need them.

when asking on which you NLE shud use to edit video I will tell you to get avid and an mac. life is easy when it just works.

GIMP, Cyberlink PhotoDirector, Microsoft ICE, Photoshop CS5, Picasa. It really depends on what I'm doing, the time/effort I'm putting into it, and why I'm post processing.

I'm cheap so I use Picasa(when I had it installed anyways). Decent performer for free.

Camtasia Studio 7. Laggy, but it works.
Wish I had premiere or after effects :/

UPDATE: Just got Premiere and After Effects! Now if I could only figure out how to use them....
