[AMD @ Computex] "So Far Ahead Of Its Time That We're Launching It At The Edge Of Space"

ifitcanreachspace.jpg

A new cryptic site has been doing the rounds, everybody loves these kind of cryptic launches right? right? no? Oh well, let's see what we can find out from this one... ifitcanreachspace.com

Whatever it is, it launches from the edge of space and in 7 days time. If you ask Google about it, it seems to think that yesterday the title of the site was "AMD" a rookie mistake or little intended snippet? today the title has been removed. Then there's the unmistakeable Klavika font, AMD's new choice font for marketing materials. For us that's case settled. But what are AMD launching in 7 days? and from the edge of space no less! Once we find out we'll let you know!

Wonder what it could be. Should be interesting either way.

The pic at the back reminds me of the house/balloons from UP... Maybe thats related. probably not.

I hope it's Space Core.

I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason and intellect has intended us to forgo their use, and by some other means to give us knowledge which we can attain by them. - Galileo Galilei

I must be easily amused or something because, i always get really excited when companies do this kind of thing. Even though last time it was "low power mobile chips" and that was less than groundbreaking. haha

I don't like this type of marketing campaign because companies always claim they are revolutionizing their industry and usually the announcement is completely lackluster. I do hope this one turns out differently, history just tells us it won't.

Exactly my thought, that's why I don't get excited.

Unless it's an FTL drive who cares?

Why? All the power would be drained from the hydrogen cells and it would be overheated.

You must be fun at parties

Imagine a 20nm GPU with shared virtual memory and stacked DRAM :o

That would make Nvidia cry xD
