Going on a 10hr road trip, taking my PC

Take out the GPU and HDD, then put them in a safe place where they won't be bumped. That's it other than laying the PC down on it's side, not upright.

Or, if you have a car with a regular wall outlet, get a mobile hotspot thing on your phone and play games in your car.

Hello LTT members! I am going on a long ass road trip tomorrow for about 10 hours and I am taking my desktop pc.  Do you guys have any tips or suggestions for how to safely pack the computer?  The roads will not be bumpy or anything and I have the passengers seat, back seat, and trunk to put things in, so space is no issue.  Just don't want to break anything :D

Thanks in advance!

remove your graphic cards and pack them separately ~ remove any mechanical disk drives or ODD. Pack your case in its original packaging(if you still have it/ something similar) and place it horizontally so that motherboard is not sitting upright. If you have a particularly heavy cpu cooler(NH-D14) remove that as well just to be safe.

Psh, casuals. I make a 12 hour drive every two months and my computer survives just fine upright in the very Styrofoam and box that the case got shipped with, along with blankets as padding around the box just because.

I feel like the HDD is safer in the case because it's already suspended, and the graphics card will be fine if it's screwed in. Computers make it through UPS man handling without problems, I wouldn't worry very much as long as you don't put a couch on it.

If you have bubble wrap, make sure to surround your cards in that, it will stop any impact.

Otherwise taking them out and giving them their own box is the best way.
