Wireless latency spikes.. multiple routers / Network Cards / Networks

Hi LTT!

 

Having a strange problem and can't seem to figure it out. looking for some help!

 

I own a (few year old) Asus G74SX. As of late I seem to be getting random ping spikes via wifi that I never used to these spikes are visiable between my laptop and the gateway it's attached to.. I'll go through what I've checked in order to give you an idea on what I've already tried.

 

• Multiple Routers. -- I've tried 3 seperate routers, 2 are Rogers cable routers, one is an Asus dual-band (don't know the model name)
• Different spectrum and different channels -- I've tried channels 1, 6 and 11 in the 2.4 ghz band I've tried the 5ghz band as well.
• different wireless cards -- I replaced the original qualcomm atheros wireless card with a dual-band Intel Centrino advanced n 6235
• Different ISPs -- One is Rogers Cable and one is a no name fibre company in my small town.

It's worth noting this doesn't seem to happen via ethernet cable.

 

Here's an example of some numbers.. This is me sitting 5 feet away from my home router with direct LOS:

All drivers up to date? Use something like Iobit driver booster my brother had the same problem and it was just a driver issue, sometimes windows update can't pick this up.

Double checked -- All up to date, including latest BIOS for this machine.

have you considered maybe other wifi networks in the area? you could try and setting your router to a certain channel instead of having it on auto. Also temperature could be hurting the router, if it is getting to hot.
