ASrock makes water resistant motherboards

They're saying it's for recording. So you'll be able to record from whatever has HDMI out.

Well it wouldn't be very useful for gameplay unless you have an output as well, which I don't see on there?

It would be for recording from other sources like cameras, TV boxes, consoles... things like that.

That's my point, it would not be useful for consoles whatsoever, you actually need to see the image.

It will help with condensation with sub-zero cooling

and if you have a leak in your watercooling

I think they just dipped these boards in a liquipel type compound..

Technically, if you could get your hands on some liquipel.. you can water proof every motherboard. Would probably need to cover all ports and connectors first though..

Looks pretty cool, makes water cooling a bit safer and prob more popular than before! Can't wait for the live stream!

So that means no worry for your motherboard but you'll just have to replace your:
CPU
Memory
Power Supply
Soundcard
Storage
Videocard(hopefully its not a Titan)

Maybe those components just need some Liquipel and we'll be all set with a complete waterproof rig *^_^*

I wonder what the latency is like.

I'm just a soul who is up to no good.

that is so cool, I know water shouldn't be anywhere near the system but that is still a pretty cool thing to have

Great news for those extreme overclockers who are pushing 6.0ghz and above using liquid nitrogen etc.

That would be interesting, also be interesting how the water proof coating copes with being super cooled.

If they make the other components waterproof then I'd make a system that maintains close to freezing water and dunk them all in.

So what they are suggesting is that we just dump the whole motherboard into a tub of water and we have water cooling.

So if we get waterproof gpu's and ram we can than just toss the mobo with all the stuff in to the fish tank filled with coolant  And having something to circulate the water around would be perfect.//// OR a case filled with coolant and a window on the side????? :o  I would totaly do that :D

It sounds like a gimmick for most people, but I could see someone making good use out of it. An interesting innovation.

This would be pretty useful if you are using this motherboard as a test bench or liquid cooling it.
