Reds are just excellent for gaming as is Blue for typing.

I guess that leaves Brown in the middle ground for me

I have a black and it's excellent for gaming as well, for typing, it's somewhat better (to me anyway) than Red which can be a little light. Have yet to get a Brown, working on it.....need to find either a Filco or a Ducky. Trying for the former as I've already gotten two Ducky KBs.

I like the green alps that I have. They are kind of like a poor man's MX blues, with a slightly higher actuation force. My wife has white alps which I think are amazing to type on but are a bit of a strain to game on. I think they have an actuation force around 75g which is similar to what MX greens would be. e

I've only been typing on blues for about a month now and switching back and forth between my browns.  I like them equally, love the sound of blues but love the ease of actuating browns while still getting the slight bump; on the boards I've typed the blues always require more force.  If I have to pick one and only, Brown it is.

I'm a really big fan of the blue switches but somehow I find it more comfortable to type on my Mionix Zaibal 60 which uses Black switches. I'm still voting for blue switches though.

Damn, I can't vote as I'm quite undecided,,,,,Red and Black for gaming, Blue for typing and Brown emcompasses the best of both worlds, but is lacking to them in some ways. In other words, Brown's the jack of all trades, but master of none. I have essentially 3 Reds, a Black, a Brown and a Blue.....and I like each for different reasons, Red is still dear to my heart.......I love typing and gaming on my Black as well. Too many swictes, can't decide now.

I'm quite biased having only used Rubber domes and Blues... And certainly the rubber domes are the best!

Just kidding, after just 3 days of using blues I can say for sure I'm in love with them and could never see myself going back to rubber dome.

Personally test blues myself and compared them in the retailer store with the other switches. Blues still the best to me. If you want shorter travel, put O-rings under those keycaps. I rather try not to cheat myself and try not to bottom they out using the old fashioned way.  :lol:

I use Cherry MX Blue. It's my first mechanical keyboard and I don't really know a lot about switches.  :lol:

I'm personally a fan of blues, but I can use other switches without any major problems, although I seem to be about 10 WPM faster on reds than I'm on blues, but I find blues more comfortable and more accurate to type with.

If you give the Browns a try for a while you should find you get the speed of Reds but with better accuracy.  I can be very fast on Blues but Browns are faster hands down.

Blues definitely, I love my Blackwidow 2013 which is my first mech. keyboard. It's really not as bad as people say it is, they really stepped it up when they made the 2013 version, it's not crappy glossy plastic like the 2012 version. It's a pretty solid keyboard.

Love my Cherry MX Brown switches because of the tactile feel without the sound produced from the blues. :)

On a general whole i love blue switches, but there is no way i will be using one anytime soon for it's just too loud.

Currently using Reds and probably getting a Brown soon, although my vote does go to the blues.

Yeah, that's why I got the Shine II TKL Browns, can't keep the girlie awake at night with Blues.  Cause then, she'll get all mad and let my junk turn all blue.
