I went to change it back after I tested it and now I'm having a small problem. My monitor is 1366x768 but when I choose that option it doesn't scale correctly. I have to set it at 1360x768 for it to look normal, but it's bugging me that it won't go back to the proper native resolution. Any fix?

I have a BenQ GW2750 monitor and a GTX 770.

Everything works normally up to 3200 x 1800.

After that I need to use:

Active pixels:              1920    1080

Front porch (pixels):   88       4

Sync with (pixels):      44        5

Total pixels:               2020    1090

Polarity:                     Positive  Positive

Refresh rate:             65.40KHz   60.000Hz

Pixel Clock: 132.1080 MHz

And with that I can go up to 3840 x 2160 without a problem.

Tested this on a 55" Samsung Plasma TV and it has changed the color output. Grey's go to Light Pinks and White's go to Light Blue's. I am assuming that it's putting extra strain on the panel and probably not good for it.

Windows 8.1 doesn't look blurry to me at all as others had reported. Running GTX 780 ti

how is a downsampled image putting stress on the panel

ur either downsampling on the GPU or on the LCD's scaler

either way it doesnt matter

From what i've read, GCN card only support 2880x1720 max. Can you search your ModeTimingOverrides_DVI_Conn12556 or just ModeTimingOverrides in Registry and dump the value here in spoiler?

sorry i had to take 2 screen shots coz i cannot make the tab bigger and the values couldnt fit in the actual tab

these are the tabs you are looking for right?

sorry for the 5th message. but i did everything that guide said, we changed the code in the registry, exported it, ran it. i can select the resolution but it says input not supported. i tested this on my brothers PC, he has the exact same monitor but an NVIDIA card and it worked like a charm. any ideas what im doing wrong? i even used the INF file that guide had to see if it would work. i used it on my TV, on my monitor, both at the same time and alone with each. and still no luck

BTW i did only use 2560x1440

also theres a screenshot of the registry values.

After trying a few games I have gone back to just running my monitor at 1080p thanks to some input lag being introduced and whilst it did look good I just couldn't play any games with it like it was.

Frame rates were still easily acceptable.

If your GPU's are running under full load as it is then it won't increase temps.

This works beautifully with my system. Just a tip though. You can make the resolution higher than 1080p but it doesn't mean that you have to use your desktop in that resolution.  If you simply set the resolution up you can go back to 1080p and the new resolution will show up in your games resolution list. Enabling a higher resolution will only affect your game. I'm also having a bit of quirk happening with my system though. When I switch to the higher downsampled resolution. My monitor seems to reset it's options and my screen goes to what I'm assuming is factory set up. I have an LG 27" IPS  5ms Monitor. Sorry don't have the model #. Any one else run in to this?

Two Acer G245HQ and one H233H, all of them successfully downscale from 1440p and the custom resolutions are successful, but for some reason it doesn't allow me to choose it for the H233H on the Nvidia control panel.

Also text is a fair bit more difficult to read in 1440p, do you have to change the display size options in control panel?

So for this to work you need a Scalier in your monitor...Mine doesn't have one...But I will try on my other side monitors.

I started from scratch, i used the guide u gave me. i used your INF file. i updated the driver, restarted PC. i used the guide step by step by step, i used your code you gave me and i change the DVI_Conn number to 12804, i ran it, and restarted the PC. the resolution is always there to select, from both the AMD Catalyst Control Center and control panel. but when i do select it, screen goes black and monitor displays "input not supported." thats my problem at the moment. any ideas?

I have never tried something like this before, and I dont have that much experience with stuff similar to this. So please keep that in mind, when I ask questions that are prob. Stupid :)

I have a Samsung 2693HM. Its native resolution is 1920 x 1200. I then made it go to 2560 x 1440 like it explained in the topic. But when I try to use that resolution in a game, there appear to be black bars at the top and bottom. Why is that?
