Man, one of the funniest animes I've watched was danshi koukousei no nichijou, and recently i've watched Detroit Metal City which turned out to be a really nice comedy anime

The anime studio is still shaft so quality of the animation should still be amazing but it doesnt look like Gen Urobuchi is the writer this time. His touch of dark fantasy is what made the original series great(and depressingly dark).

Yeah it's pretty good as on it's own, if you like gun anime. It builds upon the world of SAO in a good way IMO, without the harem master Kirito.

just watched Weathering with You. overall if you liked Your Name. this is pretty much the same. visuals and music beautiful as always, but the story felt a bit off. guess because i walked in kinda knowing what will happen and having saw Your Name., didn't make me too emotional. in spite of this film being longer than Your name., somehow i felt it was sort of rushed towards the end

 

in terms of seeing it in theaters, anime usually don't air around where i am, and felt almost ethereal being in the theater. especially the fan service, that was pretty awkward. however, a lot of it were comedic in nature, actually were a few laughs in the theater.
