Posted May 27, 2018 So, on Friday I got an animation cel from Card Captor Sakura featuring Tomoyo, Sakura, Kero and Li. This is from the final episode of the original TV series no less. ...Saturday I spent over an hour in line to get the cel autographed by Junko Iwao who voiced Tomoyo. Also screw Dragonball or Naruto, Card Captor Sakura was my gateway anime (Along with Kobato, the first slice of life anime I've ever watched and the first to have a time travel element to it), and I didn't know that it was a Madhouse production until recently and I didn't realise how the animation and art still holds strong up to this day... @MyInnerFredSend another invite to me, preferably early in the evening since then that will be around the time I most likely check the forum ... As in it is one of the actual pieces of celluloid that had the art carefully painted onto it and was then layered over other celluloid sheets, such as the background. to make a complete image and then photographed to make a frame of animation. It quite literally is a piece of the animation process that has been resting in a bag for some 19 years since that episode was produced. I imagine you think it is card because there is a piece of cardboard behind the celluloid sheet to protect the paint on the back and to allow you to act as a background on an otherwise transparent medium.
