I have been watching anime since 98' and I think Ive got a proper understanding of fun and engaging animations, and some cheesy colored jap drama mostly made up of fillers.

what do you consider old school anime? Also I'm not sure if you are saying new anime is made mostly of filler but if you are so are some older anime like dragon ball z which i think is more then likely still a light bulb joke to most people

New anime aren't that much worse than in the past. Just doesn't hide it as much. Plus there is so much anime that finding something that isn't like you describe is a piece of cake.
