Posted April 13, 2014 · Original PosterOP So I decided to make a little LAN build with my old 660's and some other components I had lying around. I decided to up it a bit an put my 780's in here, I upgraded the PSU to a HX1050 and am planning on making it something nice. Here is the (new) part list: http://de.pcpartpicker.com/p/M4MgrH Here are the parts that arrived in the first package. I had to wait 2 weeks extra for the case because it was damaged during shipping. After assembling it, I took it for a test drive, running butter smooth. UPDATE Here is everything actually built in to the case, I did my best to cable manage it as good as possible, but I decided to buy some sleeved extensions for the front panel connectors. Here is an image with the lighting installed. UPDATE UPDATE I replaced the fans with Noctua Redux series on the CPU cooler and a NF-F12 IndustialPPC in the front. The side panel window is also ready now. I just have a serious hatred for the core 1000 due to it having not cable routing and a single fan on a side panel as well, one thing i can tell you is that if that case was sold from another company no one would buy it. cpu: intel i5 4670k @ 4.5ghz Ram: G skill ares 2x4gb 2166mhz cl10 Gpu: GTX 680 liquid cooled cpu cooler: Raijintek ereboss Mobo: gigabyte z87x ud5h psu: cm gx650 bronze Case: Zalman Z9 plus Listen if you care. I don't really mind it not having cable routing, I'm using a half modular PSU, so it's not much of a problem. Posted April 22, 2014 · Original PosterOP 550w seems a bit small for an SLI system When folding on the PC, the PSU fan only spins about 50% of the time. If I do the calculation, the system should only draw about 450W under load. Posted April 22, 2014 Im against that case, the airflow is pathetic, it comes with a single exhaust fan on the side panel, its not very nice to build in. I recommend the n200 instead, It's actually a really decent case for the price, especially if you mod it a bit. For exhaust you've got the back 92mm and from the start you will need a PSU which will act as an exhaust so generally another 120mm, and if you're willing you could open up the from so that you have 2x120mm in the front which all in all is more than enough. I've built 4 computers with the Core 1000 and they end up looking great and has great performance/size for an m-atx, check this one out: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?286013-fractal-core-1000-mod-black-metal-power You can ignore all the cosmetics and you have a simple mod. I usually end up using the 120mm intake for an AIO cooler radiator or i flip out like last time and put a 360 rad on top of the case:P
