Guides & Tutorials Catalog

I'd love seeing some guides on how to set up cables, which component goes with which cable, cable management etc.

Don't link me to video tutorials that show you the entire build, I am talking about something dedicated solely to cables.

When are guys going to give this thread an update ? There are some more good ones out there.

As in OP:

If you feel we've missed a quality tutorial, feel free to PM a mod or reply to this

thread. Also check this post.

And the linked post:

I know this list doesn't get updated very frequently, but that's mostly because the mod team generally doesn't have time to go through this section of the forum. If you see stuff that's of high quality/in-depth and should be in here just put it in a comment and some member of the mod team will check it out :)

Added the last three.

I know I'm very late again, but I'm pretty much retired by now.

Personal life has kept me off the forums for a while now. I'll see if I can persuade some other mod to look at this from time to time.

While this thread is still pinned, it really fell out of maintenance, being a mod I can edit any threads so I'll try to take over!

Changed a few things, I put the guides under spoilers and started going over the guides listed to see what is still relevant and what is outdated.

I've only marked one guide as outdated for now, I'll continue updating this over time.

Sorry it took me a while to come around to it.

I added a hardware section and added your guide to that, plus a few others that were never added to the catalog!

Hey there. Smol request to add @VegetableStu's The M.2 SSD Compatibility Quick Reference Thread to the Storage, Hardware, or Other section of the Catalog?

Thread has a solid introduction covering physical (key types, lengths) and non-physical (SATA, NVMe/PCIe) features of M.2 SSDs, and builds on that to talk about compatibility with motherboards and external USB and PCIe adapters. It's beginner-friendly and easy-to-follow with colored emphasis on key words/main points. Pictures interspaced here and there break up the wall of text, are relevant, and used as examples to elaborate on topics -- works well for visual learners like me.

Would be a useful buyer's guide to M.2 SSDs, methinks? Briefly checked the How To: Choosing Your Storage Devices pinned in the Storage Devices sub-forums, but I didn't see any mention of M.2s (also aware that the thread is dated 2013).
