Need help choosing my new pc

ERSCreeper

Sorry, I wasn't sure where I should put this :D

Budget: Unknown

Res: 1440 x 900

Settings: Med - High

Use: Gaming, work, server hosting for school Lan etc

I have a:

Gigabyte Chassis (Some junk one)

Core 2 Duo E5500 @3.4Ghz overclock

GA-G41M-Combo

4Gb of 1333Mhz

Gigabyte GTX 550 Ti 1Gb OC WF2

Corsair TX750

Seagate 320Gb (OS)

Seagate 80Gb (BF3, WoW Etc)

Western Digital 1Tb My Passport (Everything else i.e. Steam) (Steam is like 500gb XD)

I need to upgrade so this is what i'm planning to get.

Intel i5 3570K

MSI Z77A-G45

Corsair Vengeance 1600Mhz 4Gb x2

Cooler Master 690 II Plus Nvidia Edition

I'm planning to keep my 550Ti as i'm happy with it and the PSU is mega overkill for want I paid for.

I will buy an SSD when I can afford one later

I'm based in South Africa, so hardware is very overpriced here.

Thanks in advance :D

Seems fairly good. PSU is fine, personally I would upgrade the graphics as it's fairly low-end, but you can always wait until the GTX 7xx series.

You might also want to eventually invest in a new monitor; 1080p monitors are only around $150 for a 21-22".

Otherwise that looks good man!

Due to your case you're kind of restricted to Nvidia cards or else you'll look silly :P Good luck

I would only buy Nvidia, as for a start I get them a lot cheaper than AMD (I have contacts :P) and I have always used Nvidia

Unfortunately these contacts are for my eyes ;)

Your GPU is fine. I'm still rocking my 470 GTX and play all my games on Ultra (BF3 and some other crap). The case looks cool but paying for branding is meh to me, though you have "contacts" so idk. Just keep in mind your motherboard is only dual channel for RAM so make sure you have multiples of 2 in there (2, 4, yadda yadda). Best money spent also would be some HDD upgrades and maybe a sound card if you're into that kind of thing. Good luck!
