I mean i know some episodes here and their were not that great but the series all around was pretty good (P.s i havent seen season final yet dont spoil)

Because it really is not that great imo.

Over-hyped, and I will never watch the series. Might play the game on Steam? but that's about it.

It has been over-hyped and the same thing happens (someone dies or gets wounded bad enough that they will die in an episode or two) over and over again with filler scenes put in between. I will have to admit i somewhat liked it for the first couple seasons but after that it just got boring and repetitive to me.

The show isn't consistent and there will be weeks where nothing interesting happens, but to make sure you don't lose interest they will have a dramatic episode that makes you want to see what's going to happen next. I watch it every week because I feel like I should finish what I started.

First season was great, first half of second season was awful, second half was freaking amazing, third season was total crap, and first half of 4th season was horrible. It has it's highs and lows however episodes are either really good or really bad.

I think the reason most people don't like it now if because the show isn't the same through the seasons. Seasons 1 was unique and really really good. As the Seasons went on the show went from survival focused to how the group interacted with each other and others. Most people didn't like that. Personally I think the story of the show is awful but the character development is amazing. And that is the only reason why I still am watching the show.

I haven't watched it, but literally everyone I have ever met in real life who has seen it has said it's so amazing. I can count the number of people I know who hate that show on one hand and they're all online.

Have the current group die off in a realistic way as a season finale, then start over, from the beginning (when the outbreak started), with a brand new group and different mix of personalities.

The most exciting part of a zombie anything is the initial outbreak and craziness combined with the next week to year on how they plan to survive. After that, the whole "zombie" aspect dies off and becomes relegated to nothing more than a narrative tool and the story becomes about the people. Which, if you suck at writing narratives about people living their lives in a dangerous environment with little to no mystery (i.e. the zombies are figured out by now), it's gonna suck. 

Zombies get old fast because people figure it out. So zombie anything has to revolve around noobs to be entertaining because of the zombies and not because of any other factor.

They don't all hate it, it's one of the most successful television shows of all time.

 

People love to hate things that are over hyped though, and it definitely is overhyped.

The pacing is bad.

 

It gives some nice tale stories, but the suspense is played out by now. A lot of predictable moments. I miss T-dog too.

It's a frustrating series in the sense that it goes from very good to very bad.

 

I think that's why people are outspoken about it. As opposed to just not watching it altogether.

because like most tv shows and trends that are pushed late into the dying end of a temporary fad, this show is predictable, based on the same ol same ol  zombie apocalypse and frankly the characters aren't that interesting.
