ULTIMATE AMD Kaveri Value PC Computer "How To" Build Guide

This ultimate build guide focuses on future potential. We wanted to explain and demonstrate the value of AMD's Kaveri series APUs' HSA-capable architecture, while also showing you how to build your own Kaveri gaming (or otherwise) system!

I'm going to list out the components as well as provide a source or two for where you can get them  :)

I can't tell you where to buy this stuff, but I do lean towards NCIX for the Canadians (and International viewers if their pricing and shipping costs work out for you) because they're my bros, and for Americans, Brits, and a couple other regions, the Amazon links below are affiliate links, so of course every little bit helps  :)

Linus am I correct to say this is the estimated price point for the system?

Is it just me, or does the motherboard look ridiculously clean from the first shot, that was a fair distance off?

The ssd and gpu are more upgrade options than anything else.

@LinusTech You can't keep saying unboxings if you guys don't actually do them...  ;)

@LinusTech

Why didn't you suggest an SSHD from Seagate instead of the WD Blue, it's actually not that much more and is a good compromise between an SSD and a HDD. HDDs are just too slow these days.

I really enjoyed the way you presented this video, as well as the all that nifty camera/graphic skill. Very in depth, noob friendly, fun to watch. This is probably your most well made video so far.

this board is budget friendly and has the looks and function to boot

I say its a good combo board for the A10-7850K

ah gotcha

basically I just listed all the parts which he have suggested and installed into the system

would Sandisk Ultra Plus be a good value SSD?

No no I meant clean as in the aesthetics, it looked really clean, almost like there was nothing on the PCB :P not saying it's a bad board, I personally also feel it's a good combo with the 7850K, :)

It really depends on your local prices. In the US, I'd get an Adata or Crucial. For only 5 bucks more, you can get an EVO which I'd get in a heartbeat.

as we have been told that RAM speed isnt important, but.. here it shows that it can be very important 10+ fps :/ if so i will have to rethink my build since most 2400 ram cant be used with a air cooling solution

EDIT: i looked into it, and seems its only APU builds that benefit from faster RAM

EDIT: I did not know you have access to DX12 (Star Swarm Mantle vs DX bench results). :P

EDIT 2: So, we have the name of your new employee. Time to do some stalking.
