Yeah, that happened with a lot of old Technics decks. They sound and work amazing, but they break extremely easy.

What kind of work does it need? I remeber having to repair the IC on a similar turntable, and sourcing such a chip was a pain in the ass.

The 45 issue is kinda strange. Might be as easy as a loose connection or as complicated as improper power delivery to the motor.

I said the same thing 15 years ago, but that limitationonly last until you get bands releasing albums on two 45rpm 12" records. Somehow I eneded up with two such albums in the last month.

Honestly, if you can use a multimeter and a soldering iron you will be able to fix most turntables. 

My current livingroom turntable apparently suffered from a faulty auto-return, which just required a transistor to be replaced to fix it.

Never like the anemic bottom end of the Rega Elys cartridges, but the vinyl master of Leprosy does sound really nice.

I remember being extremely hyped for their first album, but I found it kinda flat, honestly. That kind of extremely well produced death metal isn't something I crave to much these days. 

But the musicianship is extremely tight. I was probably most surprised to see Alex Friberg in the video. Necrophobic, his other band, is one of my favorite bands from Sweden.

I got an 7 hour drive tomorrow (which I hope wont take 7 hours) I am gonna listen to this whole album on repeat, I hope my sister loves radiohead, otherwise she is going to jump out of the car after 3rd repeat.
