What song are you listening to right now.

killers993

Paper Thin by MC Lyte.

It's a little trivial to think so, but this compilation has a very weird history behind it.

This compilation is essentially a digital re-release from 2009 of a compilation released in late 2001 by Atlantic or Elektra and Rhino, depending on the region or release version.

Lyte actually did bounce from Atlantic to Elektra in her career, from what I remember, so there's a mishmash of two record labels here under the same umbrella.

Whenever politicians invoke an invisible Jewish man up in the sky who allegedly lived 2000 years ago when there's a mass shooting.

There is more that meets the eye
I see the soul that is inside

For the longest time I was convinced that The Butthole Surfers sampled Yummy, Yummy, Yummy for the chorus of Pepper, but apparently that isn't the case:

I still hold to the two songs sounding alike.

Just realized i have been lurking in Youtube for over 10 years.

Love these old gems to bits, pretty emotional.

Hybrid Theory is one of my favorite albums of all time. A Thousand Suns is also pretty great:

About to burn 2000 calories on the treadmill, so to prepare for it I'm listening to some Judas Priest.

Just a coincidence at best, he/Gibby didn't sample it.

It wasn't meant as a critic, though. I see nothing wrong with sampling.

However, I still think it could be a conscientious reference, especially considering the change in cadence and lyrical content during the chorus.
