By the looks of things, Volta which was supposed to use HMC (Stacked memory on the PCB) has been canned in favor of HBM (Stacked memory on the die) which is the approach pioneered by Hynix & AMD.

I'm watching the livestream, I learned to look past the marketing. This isn't supposed to be a presentation only to a bunch of idiots who don't know what they're watching but to professionals who accually do know what they see. I don't care about what he said on that... This is acually exciting, the live 3d rendering part especially... Except Pascal there's nothing really new here in terms of technology, I'm waiting to see what the GTX 880 brings (if it's announced at all, which I doubt)

Like they show freaking Pascal(Volta) and than don't even say a thing about Maxwell.

But why should they release Maxwell?

AMD has no competition for it.

Maxwell would destroy anything AMD has by far.

So it would be of pointless for Nvidia because they are selling Kepler for high prices.

I know, I think it was because of the stacked memory announcement, but still talking about a gen in advance and no mention of the immediate next annoys me.
