i guess new no over head of open gl and windows removing directx overhead bottleneck, it will exend the life of the cpu

i just had to incorporate gpu, because i wanted to be gaming rig, and luckily the msi 650 had around 30$ rebate or whatever and voila :)

to put performance into a perspective, it has 384 cuda cores (stream processors, more powerful than GCN cores )

7770 is a little better and overclocks better than gtx 650, but gtx 650 similar or a little better than 7750

well, depends on a game

Btw, even with faster ram in dual channel 5800k(~100$ apu) that has 384 stream processors ( GCN ), is still much slower than 7750 with 512 stream processors.

Not to mention clock speeds.

The performance of the new 170$ amd APU 7850k is similar to 7750. at least on paper. 512 stream proc each

So apus are not good p/p for gaming :) and are overpriced for gaming, even on low end. this build proves that.

if you could compare high end apu(5800k) to gpu, then it would  be under 6670

multithread performance of g3220 just a little bit slower than 740 from amd at similar price point, but since motherboard is much cheaper and newer, and then g3220 has better single thread performance and consumes less power, so i went with it. its also 8$ cheaper.

the msi mobo is pretty amazing, it has solid caps. its much cheaper because it only has vga and DVi. no hdmi. :P but you use gpu anyway so thats completelly not important, its important that its cheaper.

the case looks really stupid, and it only has exhaust fan. but you know, it has enough vents and space and it was on rebate.

Some of those entries have PSUs included with the case, which won't be obvious until you view that part. You do need one, either included with the case or separate.

When you post from PCPartPicker, do you copy as BBcode or plain text?

Yes, the voting already started and your build would have been over budget anyways.

My favorite taste of the alphabet is yellow.

By only a dollar 16? Damn, way to strict.

DO NOT INCLUDE THIS IN THE CONTEST AS I POSTED THIS LATE.

Just discovered this contest, and thought it was interesting. I made my own, and wanted to share it here, although it won't be included in the contest.

good try but APU need fast RAM speed to benefit the onboard GPU

1333MHz is the worst possible speed for the GPU to run

you will need at least 1866MHz and above if you want to play games at decent framerate

As stated in the rules:

11. You must stay under budget. If I allow anyone to go even one cent over budget, it really raises it for everyone. However, once you submit your build, it doesn't matter if the price of the parts skyrockets or drops.

Basically, an exception breaks the rule, and I don't want the budget to be "$300 give or take 15 bucks because I'm feeling generous."
