i already have one gigabyte gtx 770 in my computer. and i want a better computer so should i buy 2 more 770's or one 780ti and use the card i already have in something else?

Just out of interest, how come you want to upgrade? A 770 should run everything fine at the moment and if you were going to upgrade I would suggest waiting for the 880 or something. A 770 is still a brilliant card.

single 780 would be fine for games within the next year, 780ti yeah maybe itd work but not worth it with maxwell coming this year. i say stick to the 770 and sell it second hand before maxwell release

Sell the 770 and buy dual 780's. Or jsut a single 780ti.

SLI/Crossfire never work as well as expected in many games. Given the choice, I always go for one better card versus multiple. So, I would say the 780ti route versus SLI 770's - and honestly three would be a waste. Hardly anything scales across more then the two cards...

i'd say either get dual 780's or stick with the 770 (which is a pretty good card) and wait for 800 series, then get a 880 or so.

Could you please list your goals for this GPU?  What are your current system specs, we need to know what CPU and MOBO you have along with ram.  What is your current monitor resolution?

 

 

 

SLI 2 -780's for triple monitor 1080p gaming-   not nearly as reliable as a single monitor and gpu setup

 

Single 780 Ti for 1440p

 

Single 770 or 780 for 1080p

 

All choices running on ultra spec.

If they will all be 1920x1080 dual Gtx 780's are my recommendation. 

 

 

Currently spanning a picture across 3 monitor's is kind of a pain.  It's not cheap and it can have issues, Like stuttering.

Personally, I would go with the 780Ti, since it will probably do better than 3 or 4 way SLI with 770's.

If you want to run a multiple monitor setup it would be better to get a single 780 Ti and get a 27" 1440p monitor for your main screen.  Then get several 24"'s at 1080p and surround the main one, but do not try to share the picture across any of them, keep them separate.

 

You can run up to 4 displays off one 780 Ti

How many monitors are you using and are they 60Hz or 120Hz and 2k+ resolution ?

 

Actually, one GTX 770 is sufficient enough for a single 1080P / 60Hz monitor

 

If you plan to upgrade, I suggest to wait the Nvidia 800 series or just get 2 GTX 780 instead of 3 GTX 770, IMHO.

Just wait for maxwell and get a single GTX 880. You're probably looking at a solid 20%+ increase in performance if the 750 (Ti) was anything to go on.

As everyone else is saying, wait for maxwell, but if you want it now i would go with the 3 770s, it  will be a lot better than a 780ti, you will have issues with a lot of games though so it really depends on how important reliability is to you

Why spend ton's of money on maxwell for likely 5-10% gains? 

 

It's like buying a i7 4930X instead of a i5 4670k for gaming because it's "better"

 

The GTX 700 series are dropping in price and are still great...

 

 

I suppose your looking forward to 8 core i7's with no gaming use too..

I have had dual 680's, dual 670's, dual 760's, dual 780's, dual Titans and NEVER EVER ran into these "issues" that people who did SLI 6 years or more ago, have never done it, or read about problems have had. Stop saying dual cards have issues and actually spend the money to do it. Dual/triple 770's that are 4gb would be the sweet spot (they are only slightly more expensive than the 2gb version).
