How did you guys save up for your PC?

Guest
Go to solution Solved by lani100,

Work, Repair some stuff for family and friends and ask some money for the jobs and I buy some used hardware and build computers and sell them with a llittle profit.

Job. Will always be a work in progress because this is my RTW (Reason to Work)  :D

Already spent around $2500 for CPU alone.

and demn.. Computex is making me itch again.

My dad. It wasn't much at first, but I was the only one in the house without a PC, and I am the only one who is so knowledgeable about them too haha. It was ironic till I got to pick out parts for Christmas. I made sure to build on a strict budget though, and upgrades YEARS later.

Back then I was playing not-so-hardware-draining games like COD:MW2, and Rollercoaster Tycoon 3, Napoleon TW, etc.

My parents owe me $200, so I may get that sometime before I'm 40...

I know how you feel! Thank God my parents paid me back my $150, but they still owe me $30.

My parents helped with my first computer, but now I have a job.

By working my butt off at work =)

And I was buying something like once a week mainly because of availability of the parts and finding a place to buy them from, also didn't hurt the pocket as much.

~1000€. Worked in a carpenters shop last summer, then build it last winter. I will probably work again, however this time I will buy a nice monitor and some more keyboard swag.

I owned a super beat up old bmw when I was 18, so eventually when I moved away from home I decided i'd be better off selling it than letting it rot in my driveway (it was on the verge of death anyway) - and so i used the 700 dollars or so to build my current rig!

Lawsuit settlement, I was t-boned by a ford f350 in a small car my stepdad was driving, I got hit on passenger side. Permanent damage to my sacro-illiac joint, and some hip issues from it. Can't really do much nowadays so I built a computer to enjoy the fact I can barely walk lol
