i think my hdd died

I was on my computer today and my second drive, my HDD used for storage kinda started making a loud ticking sound and was super slow, then it didn't open anything up and kinda just died i guess

all i have is a 250gb ssd for now :{

 

anything i could do to fix it?

Sure does sound dead. I've had a lot of HDD's die on me, but not a single SSD

That ticking it does make is because the reader on the plate does not read properly or at all and it`s going like a maniac on the plate hitting the support of the plate. At least is what I think.

I'm going to buy a new HDD what one should i look into? 

i live in canada and i'll have around maybe 80-100 $
