Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: I'd use it for 1440 p and 144 hertz highish settings on some games like horizon zero dawn and competitive games like overwatch I might use it for video editing too nothing super powerful tho

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): this is my first PC and I'm kinda just foraging for the greatest use of money, maybe I should go a different route like ryzen 7?      Also its intended for in a few months

as usual, i recommend having a secondary hard drive for file storage because of the finite reads and writes of ssd's and the fact that you wont be accessing everything you download all at once all the time. Everything else seems to be fine but i think you may get better bang for your buck with a be quiet or a noctua.

So you're not building any time soon? If not, then I'd just wait and see what's available when you're ready to build.

As for the build you have, you'll run out of space pretty quickly if you play more than a few games on a 1TB drive.

I'd also probably get a different monitor, but it's not a terrible choice. You're not too far off a nice ultrawide monitor at that price.

You can get Windows off Reddit, use the money saved to get nicer speakers like a pair of Mackie CR3s.

Haha, reads and writes (it's mainly writes, reads really don't affect a drive much) really aren't an issue at all. This isn't 2011.
