With the RTX 3070 launch, Nvidia caps off the third of its high-profile RTX 30-series releases, but while performance has been outstanding, few can get them. Will the RTX 3070 be any different?

Is there a reason why there's no comparison to the 2080 Super? Obviously with the price difference the 3070 is the logical choice between the two, but should a 2080 Super owner want to make the switch it would be nice to see how they compare.

Here's how I expect the cards to stack up:

  • OC'd RX 6900XT <~=~> RTX 3090
  • RX 6800 & 6800XT <~=~> RTX 3080/3080TI/TITAN RTX
  • RX 6700 & 6700XT <~=~> RTX 3070/3070TI/2080TI
  • RX 6600XT <~=~> RTX 3060/2080 Super
  • RX 5700XT & 6500XT <~=~> RTX 3050/2070 Super/1080TI

Pretty sure neither Nvidia nor AMD are going to have lower-midrange cards out until Christmas or maybe even as late as early February after CES.

You called this thing a more pocket friendly gpu and while that might be true in some parts of the world, but as of now in Romania and other european countries it is starting at official retailers from around 700-800 USD (3300 RON). I'm not saying that you were lying or anything like that, I just want to point out the fact that this gpu isn't budget everywhere.

You are right, but the price of the 3080 and 3070 in a lot of regions is way higher than advertised by nvidia so while the 3070 will always be a more "budget" option than the 3080, their price will be higher in a lot of regions. For example I wanted to build a system with a 3070 in it, but I'm forced to wait because it's starting price won't be 500-600 USD as advertised but rather 700-800 USD because the resellers know that it will be bought anyway and they can profit from it.

The 3070 is THE budget option of the new lineup right now. Just because your budget isnt 800$ doesnt mean it isnt budget...
