Asus Maximus XII Extreme Gundam Edition

NumLock21

Inspired by the popular Japanese series Mobile Suit Gundam, Asus has announced the Maximus XII Extreme Gundam Edition. The board uses a Intel 1200 socket, based on the Z490 chipset, and features a CPU monoblock by EK that cools both the CPU and VRM. The motherboard shroud is colored to that of a Gundam, compared to the original that's mostly black. In terms of features and specs on the motherboard, they are both identical. Asus has also announces other products that's Gundam Inspired and that ranges from routers, graphic cards, cases, etc.

And where's the Weeb edition ?

I know some people who would want that 👀

No but jokes aside good thing that they are at least using EK made Water Blocks. But like Geeze, so much special edition stuff for the Intel Platform is not gonna help the Blue Team shrink its process Node which at the end of the day is the most important thing to move forward on the Technology and not the looks.

You can take a look at all of the Tech that I own and have owned over the years in my About Me section and on my Profile.

I'm Swiss and my Mother language is Swiss German of course, I speak the Aargauer dialect. If you want to watch a great video about Swiss German which explains the language and outlines the Basics, then click here.

If I could just play Videogames and consume Cool Content all day long for the rest of my life, then that would be sick.

Cus I'll build a god damn char zaku pc

Told him that the board BEFORE branding is like ~$750.
(That the Termaltake Hatsune Miku case is 12,000 yen, while the regular version on Amazon jp is ~4,400-6000 yen)

The front of that case has the Gundam in RGB so technically it's unicorn themed.

Some oddities I notice:

1 it’s Japanese.  Japan isn’t big on PCs in general and there are huge tarrifs

2: the video card shown in both examples is the same model but one is described and the other isn’t.  The one that is described is a 1660.  How would that go with water cooling?  There is implication that this may be quite old.

3: one would assume that the equipment for the red and white models would be near identical but the red model has much weaker gear.   Something is up.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Why would something be up? This wouldn't even be the weirdest Gundam crossover. Seems legit enough, 40th anniversary of gundam this year, routers were reported on back in june/july. Bandai does what they want with Gundam. I'm sure there are tons of Gundam fans in japan who would buy these parts simply because of Gundam lmao. Slap Amuro on it and call it a day, sell 500m.
