Actually usable USB-A display adapter?

Up until CoViD moved all my work home, I was using this adapter with my work laptop (HP i5-4310M) in the office. As long as it was connected directly to the laptop (and not through the dock, which I suspect has a USB hub internally), it worked flawlessly. It's also been tested on the machine I validated for a department refresh (Dell i7-9750H, I think) and an Atom-powered Windows tablet (Asus X5-Z8350; I didn't say it worked well). I'll try it on my new laptop (Lenovo R5-4500U) tonight.
For 1080p, it will work fine (it can even handle a Youtube video), but it doesn't do 4Kp60 (only 4Kp30), just FYI.
I needed the adapter to get around Intel's arbitrary three display maximum (regardless of display resolution, even through 3 x 4K is 8 times the pixels of 3 x 1080p) </rant>, which it works very well for.
