Help me to build a casual workstation and gaming PC

I understand that for gaming the 10600 is better with 16GB ram but I use After Effects and sometimes run heavy Python scripts as well.

I would like to stick to the 10700 non K (I will never OC - not my cup of tea and I love durability)

I found this ram but I hate RGB: G.Skill Trident Z Neo RGB 2x16GB DDR4 3200Mhz CL16

Do you have a better suggestion?

 

MOBO: 

Asus ROG STRIX Z490-E seems to have decent features and two things I never cheap out on are mobo and PSU.

But you could obviously go higher-end with the budget.

If you want an even beefier motherboard (which you won't really need with a 10600K), I'd go for a Z490 Unify instead of the Strix Z490-E, unless you need Intel QSV for Adobe.

looks good. given the prices of the d14 and d15, i would go with the d14. there is almost no difference in performance between them.

I am done with the build and everything is brilliant. Thank you for your help.

I learned a lot from this build, like: Fractal cases are garbage. I personally made a mistake with the size (I can't put on the second fan for the CPU cooler but it idling around 27... should be fine) but the build quality is not the best. Manual states that I can fit multiple 140mm fans but it's not true. I was better of with the 120's

 

RE fans

I have a small problem with the fans. They are too loud an I am not sure why? The CPU fan is labbalaled as pump? They are all PWA. Not sure how to start debugging? I used the first fan header from the left on top. The rest of the fans are powered with a Y splitter except the back fan - that one has it's own header.

 

How does one track down these problems?

Have you plugged the fan on your NH-D15 in the CPU_FAN header on the motherboard?

Go into the fan control tab in the BIOS (it'll probably be called something like Fan Xpert 4), and set your fans to PWM control. Then you should be able to do custom fan curves either in there, or in Windows through AI Suite.

I accidentally I connected the 140mm fan to the AiO water-cooling set header. I moved it to the secondary optional cpu header and it's perfect now. Multumesc Mateyyy.

 

One more month until my GPU!
