Is my CPU up to standard with my computer?

Hello, here is my spec list:

i3 8100

16GB DDR4 3200Mhz

RX 570 8GB msi

I'm thinking of upgrading to an i7 8th Gen, or maybe a Ryzen 5 3rd gen.

All I do really is play video games, sometimes I want to use photoshop but I think my CPU is bottlenecking me. Thoughts?

I know I will have to swap boards for the Ryzen choice, but I have a B365M DS3H.

If not in a hurry you might want to wait for 11th gen Intel desktop CPU series. 10th gen is already pretty good for gaming.

Or the AMD upcoming CPUs/APUs. Not too much longer to wait.

I edit my posts more often than not

I'm thinking in about Christmas time, but I can hold out longer if need, I'm in no rush at all.
