$279.00 US, new: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Matte-FREE-EXPRESS-X-STAR-DP2710LED-27-2560x1440-Samsung-PLS-Panel-Monitor-/330932578190?pt=Computer_Monitors&hash=item4d0d1e678e&_uhb=1

Also note that there are matte, glossy, and glass variants, as well as perfect pixel/non-perfect pixel versions. There are other models around this price point but this one seems to be superior overall from what others have said.

If you have to get a Korean display, get the one with pixel perfect status.

I suggest an HP ZR2740W instead. Better stand, better warranty, $30 more.

Even with pixel perfect they come with some kinda quirk to them. They are rejected panels of course. Isnt the response time on the HP like garbage?

People have had mixed success with the perfect pixel warranty. Also note that the warranty does not cover 0-2 dead pixels or backlight bleeding. Many of the people reporting dead pixels have said that they're unnoticeable unless you're trying to look for them.

Yeah, I know. I'd never buy one, especially since if you're unfortunate enough to have one with issues you're out another $80 to ship it back to them. No thanks.

If you look at the reviews, they're great. It's rated at 12/14ms, but actually gets closer to 5ms, and is faster actually than the PB279Q.

I'd rather have a maximum of 2 dead pixels than the possibility of up to 5.

I know with a regular monitor it won't be that bad, but when you're buying one of these that are reject panels I'd be a little leary.

They don't cover backlight bleed because it's common in IPS monitors. They all have a degree of "glow" to them, and some people may mistake the glow as bleed.

If you really have to try and save the money, I'd rather spend the little bit extra.

I think these monitors aren't worth it though, personally I'd spend the money on a top rate monitor. You look at it 100% of the time you're using the computer. It's worth the investment. I don't know why people don't get that.

I hate how you cant trust the specs for monitors. And yea, would you rather spend a little more for guaranteed quality or pay a little for a gamble? How lucky are you feeling?

Well the perfect pixel variant is $100 more.

Also, the backlight bleeding can apparently be largely fixed by reassembling the monitor and having the panel's weight more evenly distributed.

Yeah I know what you mean. I hate having to wait until someone's done a really in depth review until you get the real information about the monitor.

Especially when it comes to something as important as response time.

They're $60 more...

Haha, I really don't think many people are going to do that. I wouldn't. It seems like a lot of work for the possibility of it fixing something that's not even that big of a deal.

You can go cheap Korean or a used name-brand monitor of better quality for more, but get some assurance it wont have problems.

There's a lot more to it than that, they're also more adjustable in terms of the colors, etc.

Way to many people who act like they know anything about the Korean monitors on here who don't know anything.. I have a Qnix with zero dead pixels and I've had it for 11 months running at 120hz with ZERO issues. I know thousands of people on OC . NET with the Qnix or Xstar with no issues also. Yes you can get one with problems but it's not as common as these guys say it is.. And pixel perfect is just a gimmick to get more money from you. I've seen some pixel perfect with 20 dead pixels. If you want some answers on Korean monitors you should ask the members on here who actually own them and not listen to these guys upset that they paid more for less hz lol

Look here and you can see what problems if any people have had with the Qnix or Xstar

Actually it was very severe backlight bleeding according to the person in the video. Also the site just said $279.00, and now it says $309.00, not sure what's going on... either way, it's still a significant expense for a guarantee that lots of people haven't seemed to have needed.
