No additional 4 pin on psu

Hey everyone, I have a Thermaltake TR2 S 600W PSU and a MSI B550 Carbon WIFI motherboard. The mobo requires a additional 4 pin from the psu but my psu doesn’t have that will it be an issue for 4.5 GHz on Ryzen 5 3600?

The 4 pin EPS/CPU connector on the motherboard is not needed, unless you are doing LN2 overclocking or are running multiple heavy videocards in the motherboard.

No sure if 4.5Ghz is reachable on an R5 3600, so I can't comment on that.

it can use an extra 4 pin, but it's not required

 

also the 8 pin will deliver almost 400 watts if needed, but the 3600 consumes less than 100 watts.

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

 

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Yeah it is reachable I did it before. Also my PSU quality is not that good and I use a 2080 Super will this PSU cause issues? Like small explosions or harming other parts?

I really can't recommend the PSU, but at the same time it's not my area of expertise to judge it.

Uhhh... with a system like that, I would STRONGLY recommend that you upgrade the PSU with something of higher quality.

550W ~ 650W is still plenty, though .... just a less shady quality PSU.

I just bought the B550 Carbon and it was quite expensive I can’t afford a better PSU what could happen worst case scenerio?
