I wouldnt pay more than £250, I've seen a few go for around 250 euros.

When its actually possible to buy 3080's for retail price then I expect secondhand prices to fall even more, new prices will stay much the same. If a 600 euro 3070 with a warranty is faster than a 2080ti, then every card including and under a 2080ti isn't worth more than 400 euros maximum in my opinion.

I have seen 2080ti's going as low as 550-600 euros, and this IMO is too much.

when should we expect a major price drop in gtx 1080ti and rtx 2060 and 2070 cards?

You shouldn't be expecting a major price drop to begin with. The available number of those cards will simply dwindle over time, but, from where I stand, there is no indication that the prices will have any sort of a major drop.

we literally have no idea of if a 3070 is better than a 2080ti, its not out until October.

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

Here is the problem. When the new consoles are released people will question why PC gamers are paying so much for graphics cards. The prices will drop after the new consoles are out. Why? Because they are cheap in comparison. Besides the economy is in the tank.

in the uk finding parts 2nd hand is equally hard as new, so online via ebay is my only option. curse of having limited mobility i cant go far out. but a 1080ti is more than enough for a single 3440x1440 144hz or 3x 32inch 1660x900monitors 75hzin surround. i play alot ofr rpg and racing/flight sims

If you are not in a hurry then I would just wait until the NVidia's 30 series is easy to get hold off, hopefully that wont be long from now. I expect the secondhand market for 10 and 20 series card to crash again once this happens, why pay £350 for an old 1080ti with no warranty, when you can get a new faster card with warranty for a similar price. The rtx 3070 will be a little over £500, so a 3060 will be around or close to £350, I dunno how it will perform, but secondhand 10 and 20 series should drop a fair bit once they are all out.

New or second hand?

New don't expect any kind of drop.

Second hand maybe once the 3070 drops and there is stock?

well i dont want to spend 350 at all honestly the 1080ti is only worth 200 flat imo vs the fact i could buy a rtx 2060super for 300 flat, but then the 3060 may be around that price new. im just hoping those mining scum dont ruin the navi launch.

When you can easily buy the replacements...

Its not just the 3000 series a lot of retailers stopped ordering new 2000 series.  The entire  NVIDIA section at MC locally was empty when I picked up my 3080 last week.

If a 3070 at $600 is equal to a 2080Ti, a $250 2080Ti makes.... no fucking sense at all.

Please go back and read again, you have clearly misunderstood.

As for how much I think a 2080ti is worth, depends on whether or not it has a warranty. Personally I'm not buying without a 6-12 month warranty, I not spending hundreds for a paperweight. I put the new value of a 2080ti at around $500 - $550, if indeed a $600 3070 has similar performance and you can actually buy one, so if I'm buying a secondhand one with a warranty then I would be looking to pay $350 - $400. I likely wouldn't be able to buy on for this price, so I would just get the new 3070.
