Asus a320m-k mobo with Ryzen 3700x

afaq0

Hello. I'm a sometimes a noob and I currently have a Asus Prime a320m-k Motherboard with a Ryzen 1500X and GTX 1060 6GB. I play at 144Hz and now that the new GPUs are coming and I cannot run newer games at the frames I used to run them at, I decided it's time for an upgrade.

Would a Ryzen 7 3700X work well with my motherboard? I would pair it with maybe an RTX 3060 or something. I would also maybe get the CPU second hand because I can't usually spend much.

Would a Ryzen 5 3600X work well at 144fps with the 3060?

Thanks.

a 3600 would be enough for the 3060.

however, neither the 3600 nor the 3700x would work well on the a320 motherboard.

a320 motheboards are only good enough for athlong cpus and ryzen 3 cpus.

@boggy77 Ah. So a new generation of Ryzen CPUs are coming too? Thank you! In that case I will wait and also get a new motherboard to work well with the new CPU.

Thank you for your help.

since it's quite a long time until the 3600 release, I would wait for the ryzen release as well, yes.
