Galaxy S10e phone number is "unknown" T-mobile

nightmarevoid

Hello all

I bought my phone in December and moved my sim card to it from a huawei honor 8. The Sim card was for t-mobile for both phones.

My S10e can't find its own phone number. In the sim card info it displays the phone number as "unknown".

"Edit" only allows me to edit the phone's display name.

This is an issue for Messages because every time my phone restarts it changes my phone number to "unknown" which causes me to be added as a recipient to group messages. It's been getting pretty irritating, and I'm worried that I'm also working up as unknown when I call people who don't have me as a contact.

Is there a fix to this?

Thanks in advance

If it's saying "Unknown", that means it's not reading or detecting the SIM card properly. I would clean the contacts of the SIM card and if that doesn't work, contact T-Mobile and see if they can arrange for a new SIM card to be sent. Had a similar issue with my Galaxy A7 2017 a few years back. The SIM card would randomly cut out and I would have no number or service. Eventually it would return a few seconds later.

Also, if you're on T-Mobile, take advantage of their technical support staff! They're there for a reason.

Thanks for the suggestion. It looks like this is a t-mobile problem and not a phone problem, so I'll call t-mobile today.
