GPU I'm looking at has 3 8 pin PCIE connectors...is it safe to use splitter for two of the connectors??

Dregur

I'm looking at a 3080 that is using three 8 pin PCIE connectors (EVGA 3080 FTW), but I only have two free 8 PCIE connectors. Would it be safe to split one of them to connect to two of the connectors? I currently have a a Corsair SFX Plus Platinum power supply.

I think two cables feeding three 8-pin connectors should be fine. It seems Nvidia has put a voltage limit. It's hard to OC passes 400w.

Unless the GPU can be OC to a point it consumes 500W.

Wasn't planning on overclocking at all.

two 8 pin should be fine, 375 watts is more than enough. just make sure to use a splitter and to have a beefy power supply

One 8-pin connector according to specs can handle 150w. And the cable can handle way more than that.

He mentions Corsair SFX. I suppose it's the SF750.
