Looking to upgrade phone but I have a interesting issue

So I am currently rocking a LG K20 Plus. I am running out of room in the 32GB of internal storage they give, thanks to more and more apps not allowing me to move them to my MicroSD card. I have always had a phone with external storage ability, but I see that going by the wayside these days. 

I would like to move up to a phone that has 64GB or 128GB of internal storage (especially if I can't mount an SD card.)

I mainly use my phone for watching videos and ordering food and drinks. 

If I could, I would use my son's LG Stylo 5 that we got for school (I like the screen resolution), but quickly replaced because it didn't have enough internal space. 

 

My work doesn't allow me to have a camera phone, so the camera(s) will be physically removed and expoxyed over the holes. 

So I REALLY don't care if the phone has a good camera or not! And I don't know how much more they will charge me for removing 4 cameras, let alone 2. 

 

I have T-mobile as my carrier in the US. 

Hopefully I will be able to get an Otterbox case for it. I work on Navy ships so I need a case that can take a hit. 

I would like to keep my cost under $800USD, but I would prefer under $500USD if possible. 

 

So far the only thing I could find was a Google Pixel 4A. 

 

And I really am not considering an iPhone. 

 

Any suggestions and recommendations would be GREATLY appreciated.

damn they charge you to take the cameras out of your phone? thats kinda lame

basically everything was bought used off of reddit or here, only new component was the case. absolutely nutty deals for some of these parts, ill have to tally it all up once it's "done" :D

I don't have an iFIXit kit!!

I was only charged $40 for the removal and epoxy job last time. (3 years ago now?)

yeah thats fair but id figure your work would compensate you for adhering to their restrictions. from a policy standpoint woud think theyd wanna incentivize that, lest people try and circumvent it. but oh well...

With their rules, I can just leave my phone in my car. If I want to bring it into the Controlled Industrial Area, I'll remove the camera. 

Their position, if I am important enough to have a phone, then by GOSH the government will provide me with one.

Ok cool. In that case the Poco x3 is a great phone for the price only problem being 4 cameras but considering how cheap the phone is you can add the price of the removal and it still would be cheaper. It has a great battery and a good display. A Pixel 4a would also be a good bet.

I was looking at gaming phones, but I just don't think I could do that. If I want to game, I have a PC for that.
