Proper termination of CAT 6 cable

Hi,

recently I renovated my flat I pulled cat 6 cable through the walls. 

What kind of keystone is supposed to be used? 

And does cat6 support 10gbit?

Cat6 cables support 10 gigabit up to 55m

Cat6a cables support 10 gigabit up to 100m

 

You'll need a Cat6 keystone jack to punch them down if that's what you're asking.

Yes, in short runs like in a room it can. But in your case, wiring a house... the runs are too long usually, I would not risk it. So no.

I did not specify the lenght. The max lenght of the two cable runs are 10meters so yeah it could work. But the thing that confused me is I bought cat6 keystones at the local store and they gave me cat6 1gbit. Anyway now I know I can future proof it for 10gbit.

55m is not exactly a short run.
