GtX 1060 worth it?

Dauntless69

I have a deal on GTX 1060 3gb for $170

And competing cards such as RX 570 and GTX 1650 super are between $185-$200

So is the 1060 3gb worth it at $170?

(Will install it with Ryzen 3 3100 Budget build)

Yes, if it's cheaper than an RX 570 then go for it. I don't think you could get much better for inr prices

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

Only if it's a 6GB model.

The 3gb model kinda sucks. Go for something like a RX570 or a 1650 super.

I will recommend an NHu12s (or an NHd15 (maybe)) for your PC build. Quote or @ me @Prodigy_Smit for me to see your replies.

I won't pay more than $120 for a 3GB 1060.

Why so? On Users Benchmarks they show about 15 to 20 percent more performance than a rx 570 and 1650.

Ps. This is my first ever build

The 3GB model is pretty close in performance to the RX 570, the 6GB model is close the the 580, so whichever gives the best value based on that is probably the best buy. The 3GB card is hardly bad for 1080p 60fps gaming.

So 1060 for 20 bucks more I get 6 GB variant, will that be better price to performance than a 570 or 1650s?

You'll run in to VRAM limitation quite soon. RX570 with 4GB is a better choice. You should be able to find 570 for less than $150.

This is india pricing, you can't expect USD pricing for OP. Also, vram is not a problem by default, it strongly depends on the game. at medium settings in the majority of games, it would almost never be a problem.

I can find 1060 6GB below $100 on ebay. Although second hand. $170 for a 1060 3GB is too much.

I hope I could, but I don't think I could get anything better than GTX 1050 and maybe even a 1050ti with luck for that price, on all major sellers in my country.

Never ordered or even know anyone who did buy anything on eBay, and plus shipping to India will blow my budget with customs and shipping, plus this is my first build, and I would rather have a new and valid warranty product, really afraid to take risk on ebay.

Not familiar with India first and second hand market. I have no idea computer components in your country are so much more expensive than in US ans Europe.

There have been lot of restrictions in India China Trade in recent days, and the delay and shortage has hiked the prices. And now it is what it is.

But thanks anyway for your help 🍻

Seeing 6gb models going for $120usd now so I wouldn’t pay that. I paid 120 for mine months ago and it’s a 3gb. I’d shoot for a six but the performance isn’t great anyway. But more than enough for my old rig.

1060 variants are kind of a scam, even if we do not talk about how 3gb vram is seriously not enough for 2020 unless you only play old games, those two are not the same cards, I cannot be bothere to look it up but either the chip itself is different or it is weaker variant of the full fledget 1060.

So it is not just about the VRAM, the chip itself is weaker.
