It's hard to fail harder than Bethesda did by themself, so future is looking brighter now.

This might be a game changer for the NEXT generation of consoles, considering Bethesda's roadmap (2022+ for Starfield and ??? for TES6) but won't really change much for this one.

Let's just hope they lift Bethesda and not tank MS by adopting Bethesda's people or culture.

Maybe we'll get a decent Fallout 76 after all?!

Will mircosoft lift them up or will bethesda drag microsoft down? That's the real question. Bethesda worked hard to get to the bad reputation they have now. They'll have to work even harder to get back to where they were at the release of TESV.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

Microsoft playing Monopoly Simulator I see. It's not entirely unexpected that they've acquired Bethesda since MS has slurped up a few other studios in the past. Still, afaik this is their biggest yet.

MS bought inXile a bit ago. Pushed Wasteland 3 price to $60, kinda pissed me off.

This is great news for future Bethesda titles in my opinion. Bethesda's games the past years have mostly been jokes in terms of quality so hopefully with Xbox and Microsoft managing them, we will get games with better quality. There should also be more funding available for the games now which is positive.

Wow. That one acquisition makes the binge they went on for E3 last year look like peanuts. It's the most aggressive move I can imagine from Microsoft going into the Series X. If every Bethesda game ends on game pass + all future titles start appearing on day one, that's a massive competitive advantage against PS5.

It also could be good news for some of the devs like Arkane; I love their games but they've never been huge sellers. If they become Microsoft's source of immersive sims for Game Pass that could be a brilliant source of stability for them.

how does it not look good for bethesda titles? they'll be free day 1 via Game Pass and I highly doubt their games would get buggier than they've already been, maybe developing for PC and a single console would actually help them optimize

It's a huge move, if not so great for PlayStation and Switch owners. My question: is this a major coup, or is Microsoft pulling another Nokia and buying a key company when it's too late to save the platform?
