Monitor recommendations for photo editing

Hi, making new build for a friend and he needs new monitor for Photoshop work.

Not that good of selecting monitors so asking for help.

Price round : 800 Usd 700 Eur

Spec: 4k preferably 32 inch but i guess 27 will do fine as well.

Appreciate all the help.

If he is serious about his PS work, what he needs is a monitor calibration spyder, like this:

If 1440p 27" is ok, look into an Asus PA278QV.

Would prefer 4k display, It might be a while untill next hardware upgrade, so some future proofing would help.

if your friend is really serious about getting the most accurate colors, calibrations are only really good for a couple of months as the colors of the display are bound to shift slightly over time.

If he's really serious about this don't get a spyder. I've used the Spyder5 Elite and got different results on each monitor. Not to mention it took an hour or so to calibrate a display with this thing. For consistent and much better (and much faster) results get an i1DisplayPro. Calibration is more consistent across displays and you only need about 10 minutes to do it.

 

Then the only other thing you should look for in a monitor is a good color gamut. Like 95%+ D65-P3 for example.
