Intel 660P Double or singled sided

Rothhaus

Hi, so I just bought intels 660p 512gb ssd and i want to install it on my motherboard, apparently I got a sticky rubber pad with my mother board that says “FOR USE SINGLE-SIDED M.2 SSDs” but how do I know wether or not my new ssd is single or double sided? I’ve tried to google a bit but I can’t find anything.

So does this mean I can put the rubber pad on the back side of it where there’s none of those black squares and what does that rubber pad I got with my motherboard do, is it for cooling?

Usually the thermal pad goes between the chips on the PCB (the black squares) and the heat spreader on the motherboard if yours has one.

And yes the thermal pad helps transfer the heat to the spreader
