APTX boosting sound quality?

I have a pair of quality earphones, the Enacfire G20, that sound better than my £100+ headphones and I believe that's partly because of its support for APTX (my phone supports it too, OnePlus 7t). 

 

I really like YouTube Premiums music from the trial but it is only 256kbps AAC and I'm wondering if the APTX will boost the quality of the sound?

 

Usually I listen to music on YouTube using my PC with my Bluedio Vinyl Plus and my Taotronics Soundsurge 46 and it doesn't feel bad at all, so then this all gets confusing, though they are bluetooth.

 

I have Deezer Premium about to expire. (When using wired earphones like the TRN V80, I can notice a difference between YouTube and Deezer.)

I don't think it "boosts" anything... pretty sure it just uses another compression/decompression type that shouldn't degrade the sound when transmitting.

If by "boost quality" you mean "degrade it less" then yes, that's the whole point.
