You'd have to know what specific RAM you bought. Not just that it's corsair vengeance RAM. Do you still have the box it came in, or can you go back and find the listing online for where you bought it (unless you bought it in a store)?

You have to remove the battery for more than 5 seconds. Make sure your PSU is unplugged, and then remove the battery from the motherboard. While it's out, hold down the power button on your case for at least 30 seconds. It's generally best to then leave the battery out for 30 minutes or so just to ensure all power drains from the system. Then once you put the battery back in the CMOS should be reset.

Alright so i have a problem and i don't know what could it be.

 

Everytime i power on my pc i have to change my RAM slots, this all started when i accidentally end a process in task manager and some seconds later i restarted my pc, and it all started, so my pc goes on with the fans and the motherboard, psu is fine, i get the white dot in the motherboard that means it has power, its just the god damn RAM that is giving me issues.

 

Set up:

Motherboard - ROG STRIX B350-F GAMING

Processor - Ryzen 7 2700x

RAM - 16gb Vengance DDR4

GPU - RTX 2070

PSU - 750w

Try switching the psu off, pull the power plug and hit the power button on the case a couple of times to discharge the motherboard. Then plug it back in, turn the power supply on and see if it boots up. If not, in addition to that, remove the cmos battery (round cell about an inch in diameter) and leave it out a couple of minutes then put it back in and as before, plug the power supply back in and turn the system on.

Is the problem that you can't get the motherboard to post without swapping the RAM, or that you can't get into Windows without swapping the RAM? If you can't get the board to post, try clearing the CMOS (I can provide instructions on how to do that if you don't know - just let me know). If you can't get into Windows, it's likely something wrong with your installation and you will need to do a factory reset, or completely reinstall from USB.

Doesn't that reboots the pc or something?

It clears the CMOS, as I suggested in my post as well. Your Windows installation will still be there afterward just how you left it. You'll just have to re-apply XMP for your RAM and change any motherboard settings back to how you had them if you changed anything. Clearing CMOS essentially resets all the motherboard settings back to their factory default.

Yeah that's definitely wrong. Do you know what frequency RAM you bought? If so, set it up to the max frequency for your RAM and make sure the voltage is set to 1.35V. Also make sure you have the RAM in the correct slots to run in dual channel - check your mobo manual if you don't remember/aren't sure which ones they are

If you can get the motherboard to post, then you can reinstall Windows from a USB. You'll lose all your files though obviously. Clearing CMOS shouldn't mess up your Windows installation though. I'd start with changing the RAM frequency/voltage, and then try clearing CMOS if that doesn't help.

They are DDR4, right now they aren't on the correct slots cuz i had to swap it just to start the pc. where can i check ram speed and all that?

i have externals drives so im just gonna leave connected the one where windows is

Those are 3600 mhz sticks, so you can set it up to that speed in the BIOS

ill set it up in BIOS, im gonna try everything you told me and see what happens, if it doesn't work ig ill have to get a new motherboard
