While I agree, the impression I got was he was pointing to the similarity in that they are both abusive acts.  Looked at that way the statement seems more reasonable.  Doesn’t make the specifics true though.  It is common to conflate rape and other forms of sex based abuse.  English is more precise than most languages that preceded it, but it still lacks sufficient precision for some things, and language in translation is even worse.

I have noted the suggestions that the title may be misleading. As it's a little fiddly to do on mobile, I'll edit it later today when  I am on my PC.

By the way, my desktop is a docked laptop. Get over it, No seriously, I have an exterrnal monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset, ethernet and cooling fans all connected. Using it feels no different to a desktop, it works for several hours if the power goes out, and disconnecting just a few cables gives me something I can take on the go. There's enough power for all games I play and it even copes with basic (and some not-so-basic) video editing. Give it a go - you might just love it.

There appear to be “numerous proposed explanations” are you saying one or more of those proposed explanations is BS?  That the numbers appear to be going up is data.  It’s sort of independent of BS or non BS.

If u record something like that , expect it to leak out at some point. If u dont , ur not only stupid, but naive as all hell.

An old saying:

all people are stupid if the metric isn’t graded on a curve and the top end goes high enough.  Even the smartest people are stupid some of the time, and even the stupidest people are smart some of the time.  eBay is rule of large numbers.  You put up any awful thing someone is going to get caught.  That’s how spam works.
