6700k bottleneck to RTX 2080?

In Metro Exodus my average FPS is 80 at 1440p with all maxed out settings and RTX enabled and in some scenes it drops to only 60,so I'm curious to know is my CPU bottleneck to this card or everything is okay?

I even clocked it to 4.5GHz.

A tiny bit but it's providing relative info to the GPU.  Doubt you'd get much more FPS by going with an upgrade at that resolution.

 

A friend's 6700K + 1080Ti on 1440p rivals my 8700K + 1080Ti almost.

6700k is still a very strong CPU for Gaming. I dont encounter any kinds of bottleneck.

I have no RTX experience tho.

I ran AB and CPU usage is around 45 % but GPU 98 %.is that okay?

Would I get better performance when installing a card with other rig, 3900X?

depends on the game

my friend gets 70-80fps on MHW with 6700k+2080ti

while i get like 130FPS on 3900x + 2070S

Try disabling Ray tracing or using High settings instead of max.

What game is MHW?  CPU driven game then, which is odd since the 3900X isn't faster than the 6700K really.

Monster hunter world, it's dummy CPU heavy

50% overall usage on my 3900x

Interesting, I have that on my machine, will see how it uses the 6/12 of the 8700k.   Rare to have a game use that many cores, wish more did.

What monitor do you use, and at what resolution?
