PS 5 (Digital) v/s Xbox Series S

PS5 Digital vs Xbox Series S

  1. 1. Which one would you prefer buying if Xbox Series X($475.52) or PS5 Digital ($407.70) for only 1080p gaming ????

    • Xbox Series S
      3
    • PS5 Digital
      4
    • PS4 Pro (this would also work just fine for $428.09)

I'd get the PS5 because better price vs spec + there's a few PS exclusives (new Horizon title, Ghosts of Tsushima, mebbe the God of War games) that I want.

If budget isn't the limiting factor, just get whichever box runs the games you want, or if you're into playing with friends, has the most members of your established friends group already on it.

I play JRPGs and adventure games.  SONY is king for this.

I am an Xbox guy. I will buy a series X as soon as I can.  But I also plan on buying the PS5 digital only edition the same day Horizon Forbidden West comes out.

There is no easy answer though.  Do you have a good PC?  Because first party Xbox games will also play on PC. Also, look at the console exclusives that you really want to play.  Are they all Playstation?  Then buy a PS5.  I like to say the best console to own is all of them.  Except the Switch, because fuck Nintendo :D

PS5 digital 😃 Better exclusives (not accessible on pc like xbox). Content = King

Sony don't have anything worth playing...

Game pass would be the decider for me tbh. You literally don't have to buy games anymore

Most PS exclusives are now time limited or console exclusives, so they will come to Xbox at some point or at least come to PC (see Horizon, see Final Fantasy).

So if you have a console next to a gaming PC, the PS5 only makes sense for like 1 or 2 games, like maybe God of War. From an emotionless PoV, value per dollar, the PS makes no sense. If you only have 1 console to choose and no PC, the Xbox is appealing because of the Xbox Game Pass, that will extend to PC if needed (PCMR!).

I would only buy the PS Digital if I am on a budget but somehow know that in the future I will be able to afford a 4K HDR TV.
