Will I need x2 8-pin power cords for RTX 3080?

dreaminonlol

Highly recommended to use 2 actual 8/8 or 6+2 / 6+2 and not to use a splitter coming from 1 cable for both your 8 pin needs.

QUOTE ME IN A REPLY SO I CAN SEE THE NOTIFICATION!

When there is no danger of failure there is no pleasure in success.

if you mean daisy chain, then yea it should be fine

unless for some reason your PSU can't deliver 300W from that rail

that said, the power consumption of these new GPU are kind of insane, so 2 separate cable might be a better solution if it's available to you

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

You will need to use 2 separate cables to power the 3080.

I don't know I've watched so many reviews that said if you have a 2080 Ti it's not worth upgrading to the 3080 because you aren't getting that much more FPS difference in most games unless you're trying to run at 4k. If I had bought a 2080 Ti I wouldn't bother but I was going to get 1 and they were sold out everywhere and I'm upgrading from a RTX 2070

If you're truly looking to upgrade I would wait till reviews come out for all the cards or even wait to see if they bring out Super or Ti versions sometime next year.

I will just use 2 cables 6+2 / 6+2 because that's what my modular PSU came with the 8-pin goes into the PSU.

That's exactly what NOT TO USE.....

YOU NEED TO USE 2 Separate PCIe cables. That means 2 PCIe cables plugged into the PSU...

That's a 375W graphics card for the FE vers... More if you get one of the AIB cards....
