Custom Keyboard

Well I finally did it, I ordered a custom keyboard from none other than WASDkeyboards. This is the design I made

 

I went with the classic font and the classic media keys with symbols and the old windows logo. I wanted it to have a retro feel but with a semi modern color scheme. I went with the subtle purple as I typically set all the rgb lights on my pc to purple as well as my mouse. I went through several designs were I went too hard on trying to make the keyboard seem functional and they all just looked too busy and not very clean. I found this was a good balance as the modifiers stand out just enough to make them easy to differentiate but not so much it distracts. Can't wait to see this thing in person. Not sure what I will do with my current keyboard tho (K95 platinum)

Cherry MX Browns, out of all the key switches I have tried so far they seem to be the best balance between noise and feel. I did not opt for any o-ring dampeners on it but I may try them out in the future

^When I can actually easily recommend someone to fully use their old Corsair board as a macro board

With Corsair keyboards (that support iCUE), you can change any key to any other key, so you can easily set up some easy macros for stuff you do often

 

P.S. nice choice on keycaps; purple/lavender is highly underrated!

Yeah I am heavily considering just turning it into a dedicated macro board as right now I use the six macro keys on it for work a lot and having more would be pretty chill

Gf has kailh brown and I have kailh speed copper ... love them both but I prefer the speed copper cause the bump is way more noticeable than on the regular brown.  

 

I really like that purple ... kind of one of my favorite color and I wanted to pain my case with something similar ... ended up painting it all black instead cause I was not able to make a nice pattern ... still have the can and I might paint my white redragon k552 case with that color.
